Bob's memorial was created on 11/6/2012.
Bob, an orange marmalade kitty, came to live with me in July 2000 when he was three months old. He quickly stole my heart and became my very best friend. Although he was not cuddly, there was no doubt he loved me from the loving way he looked at me with those large golden eyes. Bob was king of our realm, lounging on the big condo/stand we built for him. He also liked watching the squirrels out our back door. We often played peek-a-boo and hide-and-go-seek.

He was definitely a one-person cat, growling and hissing at everyone who tried to approach him. Once Bob got sick and his doctor wanted to keep him overnight at the clinic. However, before closing for the night, they called me to come and get him, as no one could get close to him. When I was physically able, I enjoyed taking him outside for rides in his stroller. He wasn’t particularly happy about those rides, but tolerated them.

Bob was becoming a bit more affectionate the last while, even sitting on my lap for short periods of time. On Sunday, Sept. 23, 2012, his breathing appeared labored, so I took him to the clinic the next morning. X-rays showed a problem they could not fix. He died Sept. 24, 2012 at the age of twelve.

Words cannot express the emptiness I feel without my Bob. We shared a strong loving bond, and he will be with me in my heart forever. I am grateful to the animal clinic for their care of Bob over the years and at the end. They were all so kind to me at his death. I also appreciate their donation to WSU in his memory.
